Essential St. Louis for kids

November 25, 2008

Whether you or a native St. Louisian or transplanted from another part of the country, there is plenty to learn and teach your kids about the area. Here are some kids' books with local flavor!

We live in one of the greatest baseball cities in the country. Many young St. Louisans go to Busch Stadium to watch Cardinals Games and may even  get to see Fredbird, the team mascot.  The St. Louis Cardinals Children's Book- Hello Fredbird! allows your child to see the stadium and team through a big bird eye view.

St. Louis Architecture for Kids is an awesome book to introduce kids to unique local sights. Archy the Arch acts as a tourguide to showcase buildings, history and fun facts about St. Louis. The illustrations really demonstrate how nice the area can be.

The Hello USA: Missouri Book introduces kids to St. Louis as well as the entire state. It is filled with facts, highlights and must see destinations for the state. S is for Show Me is another kids' book about the state of Missouri with a rhyme for each A-Z guide to the state. It is beautifully illustrated and a fun book to read.
